When we think of soil we generally think more in terms of what the soil produces than the soil itself. We grow grass, flowers, vegetables, shrubs, trees and the like. There is a lot to the soil we usually don’t even think about.
Healthy Soil is Vital to Life Abundant
Some soils such as clay or sand struggle to be productive because of the type of soil. Other soils diminish their productivity due to toxins of one kind or another. Others may suffer from nitrogen build-up or a sustained period of inadequate watering. These soils may produce parse vegetation but they also may contribute to impacting life elsewhere. Clay soils are more susceptible to fertilizer runoff, while sandy soils are more susceptible to fertilizer leaching into the ground with ground water. The fertilizers end up downstream negatively impacting life along the way. Toxins from chemical treatments can also be detrimental to our waterways and the life those waterways support.
At HumicGreen we work to provide solutions that improve the environment of the soil to either amend types of soil that naturally struggle to grow vegetation, or restore soils that have been damaged or neglected. The improved environment of the soil it can sustain higher populations of beneficial soil microbes essential for plant growth. In addition a higher population of beneficial soil microbes captures nutrients in the soil which helps resist leaching and runoff of fertilizers that can damage waterways. This helps restore wildlife in and along our streams, tributaries, rivers, gulfs, and coastal waters. We call our soil amendment products Green, Clean and Sustainable™.
As more soil is able to produce vegetation or have an increase in the vegetation it produces, the more atmospheric carbon dioxide it takes from the atmosphere. This builds plant structures and returns more oxygen to the atmosphere improving our air quality.
The increase in plant life and the restoration of life downstream we refer to as Life Abundant™.
