One of the most frequent questions we get asked is “Does PetiGreen work?” That answer is, PetiGreen always works to repair and improve the health of the soil which in turn works to improve the health of the grass.
Does PetiGreen Work?
Great! So my urine spots problem should just go away then, right? Not necessarily. Think of a spot free lawn as a person that is physically fit and has a healthy metabolism, in balance with the nutrients they consume. If an overweight person were to ask you “how long until I reach my ideal weight?” you would definitely consider how overweight the person was before answering. A spot free lawn is a lawn that has a healthy metabolism in balance with the nutrients that it consumes. Getting to that “ideal weight” so to speak is a process than can take time. The amount of time depends on the starting point. For a reasonably healthy lawn the time is a few months, for lawns that are more “obese” the time can be longer.
Contributing Factors
There are a few factors that contribute to “lawn obesity” that affect how much “weight” needs to be lost to reach a healthy nutrient balance. The first is the amount of fertilizer applied in the past few years. Think of dog urine as a type of fertilizer. When you combine the nitrogen in the urine with the nitrogen from regular granular type fertilizer you can get an excess of nitrogen resulting in a lawn urine spot.
The lawn of a dog owner will have different nutritional requirements than the lawn of someone without a dog. Yet many dog owners follow the same lawn fertilization practices as non dog owners. The other primary factor is the ability of the soil and lawn to metabolize this increased nitrogen that the dog adds to the lawn. An athlete consumes large amount of calories in a day to fuel their increased metabolism. With urine spots we come at the problem backwards. We have a large amount of nitrogen going into the soil daily and now we need to increase the soil’s metabolism to digest these nutrients before they result in “obesity” in the form of lawn spots.
Using PetiGreen
When you apply PetiGreen it goes to work immediately on both the biological health of the soil and well as the health of the lawn. A lot of the repair work that needs to be done to prevent urine spots is done in the soil unseen. With some lawns it takes a few months of repair work in the soil before you will notice much improvement. Just like an overweight person that starts to diet and exercise, they improve their health and metabolism but the weight loss is unpredictable at times.
Repairing and preventing dog urine spots in a lawn, like a person losing weight, is a process and a journey. Read Testimonials from some PetiGreen users. We have recently started to collect and post pictures submitted from our customers about their journey to controlling their dog urine spots.
